Senior Citizen died in Drowning

PITOGO, Zamboanga del Sur (June 25, 2018) - On June 24, 2018 at about 2:30 PM, a drowning incident transpired at Talaungan Beach, Sitio Talaungan, Barangay Panubigan, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Investigator on case PO1 Roland Partoza Lubguban identified the victim as Teofilo Meñoza, 89 years old, fisherman, married, and resident of Purok Camya Tambid, Barangay Tongao, Pitogo, of this province.

Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident; the victim was having family bonding at the Talaungan Beach in relation to the celebration of Saint John Day.

While the victim swimming at said beach, he was found lying unconscious at the sea/Talaungan Beach by her daughter.

He was immediately brought to Rural Health Unit of Pitogo Municipality but was declared dead on arrival.

Further investigation disclosed that the cause of death was cardiac arrest and was accidentally drowned that resulted to his instantaneous death. Progress report follows.

Php100K of property razed by Fire in Tambulig

TAMBULIG, Zamboanga del Sur (June 25, 2018) - Fire incident transpired at Purok 7, Barangay Calolot, Tambulig of this province on June 24, 2018 at about 3:30pm.

The copra dryer and bodega house made of semi-concrete and light materials owned by certain Robert Cabilida Y Mondido, legal age, and resident of said place was razed to ground by fire.

Investigation conducted disclosed that the cause of fire was the unattended burning of firewood in said copra dryer. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

The estimated cost of damaged amounting to more or less one hundred thousand pesos (Php100, 000, 00).
