Dead Body Found with stab wounds

PITOGO, Zamboanga del Sur (Nov. 28, 2018) - A dead body was found at Sitio Tuburan, Barangay San Isidro, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:10 AM of November 27, 2018.

Victim was identified as Leonardo Pangasian Policas, 48 years old, married, farmer and a resident of Purok 2, Barangay San Isidro, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The victim sustained several alleged stabbed wounds on different parts of his body which caused his instantaneous death.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that at about 4:00 PM of November 26, 2018, the victim left home to cooperate in (bayanihan) transferring the house owned by Audit Abogada and never returned home that day.

PNP elements of Pitogo MPS are continuously exerting effort to determine the most possible motive of the incident and possible identity of the perpetrator.

Stabbing Incident

PITOGO, Zamboanga del Sur (Oct. 29, 2018) - Stabbing incident occurred at Purok Riverside, Barangay Poblacion, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 2:00am of October 28, 2018.

Upon receipt of the report, PNP personnel of Pitigo MPS immediately proceeded to the area and verify the veracity of the report. Upon arrival thereat, the responding PNP personnel saw the victim laying on the ground with a stabbed wound on the chest which immediately brought to Municipal Health Unit for immediate medical treatment.

The victim was identified as Jerry Guibone Polo, 44 years old, male, married, fisherman and resident of PurokSangi, Barangay Poblacion, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur.

The victim sustained one stabbed wound on his left chest. But because of the condition of the victim, on or about 2:15am of the same date, Erña B. Patayon – PHN VI, Duty Nurse at the said Municipal Rural Health Office declared the victim dead.

The suspect was arrested and identified as RizalinaPagjacinaOnipa, 41 years old, female, married and resident of Purok Riverside, Barangay Poblacion, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The suspect was brought at Pitogo Municipal Police Station for proper disposition together with the recovered evidence one scissor used by the suspect to stab the victim.

Initial Investigation disclosed that at about 10:00 PM of October 27, 2018, the victim was having drinking spree outside the store of the suspect. At around 2:00am of October 28, 2018.

The suspect went to the comfort room which is outside in her store and when she goes out she was shock when the suspect is at the door trying to block her way out from the comfort room which the suspect shouted and asked for helped and run inside to her store and get a scissor and went outside to confront the victim who was holding on his hand a broken bottle of beer and there and then a commotion happen between two of them which resulted the suspect (RizalinaOnipa) stabbed the victim (Jerry Polo).

Arsonist Arrested in Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur

PITOGO, Zamboanga del Sur ( Sept. 14, 2018) – The Operative of Pitogo Municipal Police Station arrested wanted person during the conduct of Intel Driven Operation at Purok 1, Brgy Balong-balong, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 12:15 PM of September 12, 2018.

The operating team identrified the arrested wanted person as Ignacio Delacerna Lingatong, male, 64 years old, married, fisherman and a resident of above-mentioned place.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest docketed under Criminal Case # No 15-135 for the crime of “Arson (under SEC. 3(4) of P.D. NO. 1613” with no bail recommended issued by Hon. Ruben N Bance, Presiding Judge, RTC 9th Judicial Region, Branch 29, San Miguel, Zamboanga Del Sur issued on July 14, 2016. 

The accused is now temporarily under custodial investigation of Pitogo MPS for documentation and will be turn over to the issuing court for proper disposition. 

Stabbing Incident

PITOGO, Zamboanga del Sur (Sept. 12, 2018) - Stabbing incident transpired at Purok 4, Barangay Balong Balong, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:30 PM of September 11, 2018.

The PNP elements of Pitogo MPS proceeded to the area and conducted investigation.

The victim identified as Jobito Dela Cerna Barioga, 44 years old, male, married, farmer and resident of Purok 5, Barangay Sugbay 1, Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur and sustained one stabbed wound on his left chest and immediately brought at Rural Health Office, Barangay Poblacion, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur for medical treatment. The victim was later transfer to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center, Barangay Dao, Pagadian City due to the victim condition.

The suspect was arrested and identified as Rodel Endab Verano, 31 years old, male, single (live-in), farmer and resident of Purok 4, Barangay Balong Balong, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The suspect is under the custody of Pitogo MPS for proper disposition together with the turned over evidence one (1) bladed weapon used by the suspect.

Construction Worker Arrested in Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur for the Crime of Homicide

PITOGO, ZamboSur (Aug. 3, 3028) – The PNP personnel of Pitogo MPS conducted manhunt operation at Purok Potato, Barangay Poblacion, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 9:20 AM of August 2, 2018.

The operation was resulted in the arrest of the suspect identified as Jessim Castro y Castillano, 30 years old, male, single, construction worker and a resident of Purok Potato, Barangay Poblacion, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The accused was arrested by the virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Homicide with criminal case number 08-052, dated June 23, 2008 issued by Hon. Edilberto S Absin, Presiding Judge, RTC 9, Branch 29, San Miguel, Zamboanga Del Sur with bail recommended of Forty Thousand (40,000.00) pesos. 

The arrested subject person is now under the custody of Pitogo MPS for proper disposition.(By JONG CADION)

RA 9262 Violator Arrested at Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur

  

PITOGO, ZamboSur (Aug. 2, 2018) - A 25-year old man was arrested by operatives of Pitogo MPS at during law enforcement operation at Purok 4, Brgy Panubigan, Pitogo, Zambonaga Del Sur at about 9:10 AM of August 1, 2018.  

Pitogo Police identified the arrested as Ernesto Yap Tangyang Jr, 25 years old, married farmer and resident of the above-mentioned place

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest docketed under Criminal Case # 19-035 for Violation of RA 9262 with bail recommended of P 24,000.00 issued by Hon Ruben N Bance, Presiding Judge 9th Judicial Region, RTC Branch 29, San Miguel, Zamboanga Del Sur on May 4, 2017.

The arrested wanted person is now under the custody of Pitogo MPS for documentation and booking procedure prior turn over to the issuing court for proper disposition.

Hacking Incident in Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur

PITOGO, ZamboSur (Aug. 1, 2018) - Hacking incident transpired at Purok Banana, Brgy Poblacion Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 7:30 PM of July 28, 2018. 

          

The victim was identified as Emelio Biala y Berizo, 41 years old who was already laid on the motorcycle with sidecar and about to be brought to Pitogo Municipal Health center when the responding elements from Pitogo MPS arrived.

The victim sustained several hacked wounds at his nape (tangkugo) and face and other parts of the body resulting from the hacking by the suspect Franklin Bravo y Mahusay, 42 years old, single resident of same place and neighbor of the victim.

Initial investigation conducted by Pitogo MPS disclosed that, prior to the said incident the victim asked permission to his wife to go to their neighbor while the wife was cooking for dinner.

After a while the wife followed her husband so that they will have to take the dinner together.

That upon reaching near at their neighbor’s backyard she saw that her husband was actually hacked by the suspect Franklin Bravo several times hitting at the different parts of the body and she immediately asked assistance from her neighbors while some called the police.

That thru the immediate respond of the PNP elements the said police station and the assistance of the neighbors made to identify the suspect as Franklin Bravo y Mahusay.

The responding police operatives successfully arrested the suspect and confiscated from his possession one bladed (bolo) weapon measured 17 inches with scabbard.

The victim was rushed to Pitogo health center while the suspect together with the confiscated bolo was brought to Pitogo Police Station for proper disposition. Investigator on case is PO3 Rexandy Abalos Onggay, CP number 09072288839.

Wanted Person Cuffed in Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur

PITOGO, Zamboanga del Sur (July 27, 2018) - The PNP personnel of Pitogo Municipal Police Station(MPS) successfully arrested the wanted person during the conduct ofpolice operation on wanted person (Service of Arrest Warrant) at about 7:30 AM of July24, 2018 at Barangay Panubigan, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur, police official said.

Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) PIO Chief PCINSP Helen L. Galvez identified the arrestedwanted person asEric Balingit Hilamon, 21years old, male, single, jobless and a resident of Purok Palmera, Poblacion, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur.

CINSP Galvez said that the accused was arrested by virtue of warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Johnabel H. Tabunda, Presiding Judge of 7th Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Dimataling, Tabina and Pitogo dated May 29, 2018 for the crime of Slight Physical Injuries docketed under criminal case number 17-2251-P. The casehas a recommended bail bond of Two Thousand Pesos (Ph 2,000.00) for his provisionary liberty.

Cadaver Found

PITOGO, Zamnoanga del Sur (July 21, 2018) - An unidentified cadaver was found at the mangrove area of Purok 3, Brgy Panubigan, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 3:00 PM of July 18, 2018.

The personnel of Pitogo MPS together with Glen B. Impel, Municipal Sanitary Inspector proceeded to the area to conduct investigation.

Upon arrival thereat personally perceived by the responding PNP and some residents the body of unknown male person hampered at the mangroves and believed to have been carried by the strong current and waves during the typhoon.

Thereat, initial investigation conducted by Pitogo MPS, disclosed that at about 3:00 o’clockpm of July 18, 2018, the cadaver was discovered by a certain Rebilla Bequiso of legal age, widow and a local resident of Purok 3 of Barangay Panubigan when the latter went to said place to gather some sea shells for their consumption.

She then immediately reported to the barangay officials about of her discovery. The cadaver has his burn tattoo at his left shoulder (a star drawn and a word star written below it and another small star drawn below).

PNP elements of Pitogo MPS are coordinating with the Barangay Officials and the Municipal Disaster Rescue Team for immediate disposition. Investigator on case is PO3 Rexandy Abalos Onggay, with CP number 09072288839.

One dead in Shooting Incident

PITOGO, Zamnoanga del Sur (July 21, 2018) - Shooting incident transpired at Purok 2, Brgy Liasan, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 9:30 PM of July 18, 2018.

Police identified the victim as Alexis Suico Sabandal aka “Allan”, 51 years old, single, farmer and resident of afore-mentioned place. He was found dead by responding elements of Pitogo MPS sustaining gunshot wounds.

Initial investigation conducted, disclosed that, prior to the incident at about 9:00 PM, the victim was having a drinking spree and a videoke, singing together with his friend identified as Johny Villamor and several neighbors. T

The victim was already drunk when the drinking session was over and subsequently went home. That after few minutes, about 9:30PM, the residents heard three times shots from an alleged undetermined caliber of firearms which seems originated from the house of the victim.

With utmost concern for the victim, the purok president together with his neighbors proceeded to the house of the victim to determine his situation when nobody answering their call.

They looked for him around the unlighted (total darkness) house where the victim lives alone and with the help of their flashlight they found the victim lay down lifeless at his backyard.

The victim sustained three gunshot wounds (GSW) at his right chest thru and thru his left side of the body and back.

Recovered from the crime scene are the three empty shells for caliber 45 which are now being kept as evidence for further ballistics examination. Motive of the incident is yet to be disclosed.

Rape Suspect Arrested

PITOGO, Zamboanga Del Sur (July 10, 2018) - PNP elements of Pitogo MPS conducted Police Operation (Service of Warrant of Arrest) at Purok Paradise, Barangay Poblacion, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur about 7:00 o’clock in the evening of July 8, 2018. 

The successful operation was resulted to the arrest of Jhonrex Aurita Manlangit, 25 years old, single, born on February 13, 1992, Construction worker, and a resident of Purok Sitio Salva, Barangay San Isidro, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur.

Said person has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of RAPE in relation to R.A. 7610 docketed under criminal case no.: 16-178 issued by Hon. Ruben N. Bance, Presiding Judge, RTC9, Branch 29, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. Accused is now temporarily detained at Pitogo MPS detention cell awaiting for final adjudication from the court.

Electrocution Incident

GUTALAC, Zamboanga Del Norte (July 10, 2018) - Electrocution incident occurred at Brgy. Matunoy, Gutalac, Zamboanga Del Norte. The victim was identified as Carlo Truza y Gregorio a.k.a Plong-plong, 20 yrs. old, single, laborer and resident of Purok 1, Brgy. Matunoy, Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte.

The victin was electrocuted and his right leg hanged on the live wire of ZANECO located at the back portion of the victim’s house.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident on July 7, 2018 victim was working at his sister’s house as laborer then at 6:00 PM of same date he attended the birthday party and had engaged with customary drinking session with circle of friends.

Then, at about 9:00PM of same date, he decided to go home with his single motorcycle. Accordingly, the grandmother of the latter advised him not to drive his single motorcycle considering that he was already drunk.

Victim left at their house and went to the back portion of their house more or less 200 meters away where then he was electrocuted. Cadaver of victim is now lay at state at his grandmother’s house..

Farmed Died after Falling from Tree

PITOGO, Zamboanga Del Sur (July 10, 2018) - On or about 8:30 in the morning of July 8, 2018 certain Ricky Mabini Turbanos personally came and reported to Pitogo MPS informing that he found the dead body of his father Sur who allegedly fell from the coconut tree.

The victim identified as David Rasonable Turbanos, 79 years old, farmer, married and a resident of Purok 7, Barangay Balabawan, Pitogo Zamboanga del.

 Initial investigation conducted disclosed that, at around 7:00 in the morning of same date, while victim’s son Ricky Mabini Turbanos, 31 years old, married, farmer and a resident of abovementioned place went to the house of his father who live alone and wanted to help him pasture their farm animals, he noticed that his father was not around.

He tried to look for him until such time he found his father already dead lying on the grassy portion near the coconut tree in which he believed to have fallen after getting some coconut wine (Tuba) and suffered head injuries.

That based on the findings of the Municipal Health Officer, the cause of death of said victim were severe concussion and head trauma that causes his untimely death.

Wanted Person Cuffed

PITOGO, Zamboanga del Sur (July 7, 2018) - PNP elements of Pitogo MPS conducted police operation (Service of Warrant of Arrest) at Barangay Poblacion, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur at about 1:30 in the afternoon of July 5 28, 2018.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of Alberto Guinandal Y Donjog, 50 years old, married, fisherman, a resident in Poblacion, San Pablo, Zamboanga Del Sur.

He was charged for the crime of Unauthorized Fishing docketed under criminal case number 18-2284-P under the Sala of Hon. Jhonabel J. Tabunda, Presiding Judge of 7th Municipal Circuit Trial Court, (Dimataling-Tabina-Pitogo), Dimataing, Zamboanga del Sur. Bail for his temporary liberty is fixed at Six Thousand (6,000.00) Pesos.

The accused now temporary detained at Pitogo MPS detention cell awating for final adjudication from the court.

Homicide Suspect Arrested in San Pablo

SAN PABLO, Zamboanga del Sur (June 25, 2018) - PNP personnel of San Pablo MPS arrested wanted person during the conduct of police operation (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Purok 2, Barangay Daplayan, San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur on June 24, 2018 at about 5:45pm.

The police identified the arrested person as Deodemo Jupelo Y Jamisola, 47 years old, married, male, and resident of Purok 2, Barangay Daplayan, San Pablo of this province.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Homicide, docketed under Criminal Case no. 9923-2k10, issued by Hon. Rolando L Goan, Acting Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 20, Pagadian City with bail bond recommended of forty thousand pesos (PHP 40,000.00).

Subject person is now temporary detained at San Pablo MPS detention cell awaiting court disposition.

Senior Citizen died in Drowning

PITOGO, Zamboanga del Sur (June 25, 2018) - On June 24, 2018 at about 2:30 PM, a drowning incident transpired at Talaungan Beach, Sitio Talaungan, Barangay Panubigan, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Investigator on case PO1 Roland Partoza Lubguban identified the victim as Teofilo Meñoza, 89 years old, fisherman, married, and resident of Purok Camya Tambid, Barangay Tongao, Pitogo, of this province.

Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident; the victim was having family bonding at the Talaungan Beach in relation to the celebration of Saint John Day.

While the victim swimming at said beach, he was found lying unconscious at the sea/Talaungan Beach by her daughter.

He was immediately brought to Rural Health Unit of Pitogo Municipality but was declared dead on arrival.

Further investigation disclosed that the cause of death was cardiac arrest and was accidentally drowned that resulted to his instantaneous death. Progress report follows.

Php100K of property razed by Fire in Tambulig

TAMBULIG, Zamboanga del Sur (June 25, 2018) - Fire incident transpired at Purok 7, Barangay Calolot, Tambulig of this province on June 24, 2018 at about 3:30pm.

The copra dryer and bodega house made of semi-concrete and light materials owned by certain Robert Cabilida Y Mondido, legal age, and resident of said place was razed to ground by fire.

Investigation conducted disclosed that the cause of fire was the unattended burning of firewood in said copra dryer. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

The estimated cost of damaged amounting to more or less one hundred thousand pesos (Php100, 000, 00).

Drug Suspect Arrested in Pitogo

On June 06, 2018 at about 6:00 PM, joint PNP personnel of Zamboanga del Sur Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) together with Pitogo MPS and PDEA9, conducted anti-illegal drug buy bust operation at Barangay Sugbay Dos, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur.

The operation resulted to the arrest of Benjie Panalong Labura (Not listed as DI Watch List), 28 years old, married, jobless, 28 years old, and resident of Purok 6, Carmen (Misamis Annex), Ozamis City.

Confiscated from his possession and control are the following: Two (2) pieces transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu as buy bust money; Eight (8) pieces transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu; and One thousand pesos (PHP 1,000.00) as buy bust money.

The arrested Subject person is now under the custody of Pitogo MPS for filing of appropriate charges in court.

24 assorted firearms voluntary turn over to Potogo MPS

On May 29, 2018 at about 2:00 PM, PNP elements of Pitogo MPS incoordination, communication and cooperation between Local Chief Executive headed by Mayor Richard Garban and the Barangay Chairman of Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur in relation to Balik Baril Program resulted to the turned over of 24 assorted firearms;

One (1) unit M14 rifle with

One (1) magazine and

Five (5) live ammos,  

One (1) unit KG9 with

One (1) Magazine,

One (1) unit M79 with

Five (5) live ammos,

Fifteen (15) unit improvisedshotgun,

Three (3) unit Magnum 357 revolver,

One (1) unit 38 snub nose,

Two (2) unit magnum 22. 

Said firearms are now under the custody of Pitogo MPS for safekeeping.

Suicide Incident in Pitogo

PITOGO, Zamboang del Sur (April 10, 2018) – A man found dead hanging inside his house Monday at 8:22pm in Purok 3. Barangay Sugbay Dos in this municipality, Police Report said.

Case Investigator PO1 Roland Lubguban identified the victim as Roel Yamido Prego, 46 years old, married and farmer.

 PO1 Lubguban in their initial investigation disclosed that the victim living alone in his house and last seen by his relatives Tuesday morning having drinking spree with his friend’s on celebrating of his birthday.

The victim worried because his wife working at Davao City has not been returning home for more than a year and on the date of his birthday, the investigation said.

The dead body of the victim is now lies at the house of his mother-in-law. (By Jong Cadion) 

Arrest of Wanted Person in Pitogo

PITOGO, Zamboanga del Sur (April 8, 2018) - On April 07, 2018 at about 1:20 PM, PNP personnel of Pitogo MPS conducted police operation (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Barangay Panubigan, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur.

The operation resulted to the arrest of Allan Suarin Garban, 46 years old, married, fisherman and a resident of Purok Pitogo, Barangay Poblacion, of this municipality. The PNP personnel successfully arrested the suspect by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Multiple and Attempted Murder.

The case docketed under criminal case number 16-057, issued by Hon. Ruben N Bance, Presiding Judge, 9th Judicial Region, RTC, Branch 29, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur dated July 28, 2018 with bail bond recommended of (PHP 120,000.00) and criminal case number 16-021 for the crime of Murder, dated March 15, 2018 with no bail bond recommended. Subject person is now temporary detained at Pitogo MPS awaiting court disposition.

Fire Incident in Pitogo

PITOGO, Zamboanga del Sur (March 31, 2018) – The residential house razed by fire Saturday at about 8:22 in the morning in Barangay Poblacion of this municipality.

The fire incident transpired at Purok Calubian, Brgy Poblacion of this town wherein the house owned by Eugene Cabugas was razed by fire.

Police initial investigation conducted disclosed that the grandmother of the owner lighted a candle at the altar but unfortunately the lighted candle caught the curtain near the altar which causes the fire and the house was totally turned into ashes.

The Bureau of Fire Protection declared the fire incident under control at about, 9:05 AM same date with the estimated cost of damage is more or less P700 thousand pesos.

Police official said, Mrs. Maria Suarin (owner’s grandmother) was successfully rescued and unharmed. (By JONG CADION)
